Each Open division between ages 15-18 is the same at this weekend’s Ultra Ankle Bluegrass Tournament hosted by KiVA. Power pools are in use at the two-day event, with three, four-team pools accounting for 12 of the 36 teams in each Open field.
The remaining 24 clubs are broken down into six, four-team pools and must finish first or second to advance to the challenge rounds. Power pool teams coming in first, second or third receive an automatic bye into the second round of challenge action, which starts off Sunday morning. The fourth-place team in each power pool must play in the first round of challenges, which takes place later in the day Saturday. Eight challenger winners move on to form Sunday’s gold bracket once challenge play is complete.
