Earlier this month, the text came through, “You missed a good one in Vegas!”
It was in reference to Coast 17-1 clipping TAV 17 Black in three games (19-17) in the 17 Open championship match as both teams clinched bids with the performance. Unfortunately, we can’t compare that one to the one we witnessed on Day 3 of the Lone Star Classic, when TAV was once again involved in a thriller that registered off the fun chart.
The outcome was similar, the main the difference being Coast was home for the weekend and instead it was top-ranked Top Select 17 Elite Blake downing No. 2 TAV in three games, 21-25, 25-20, 15-9, in the 17 Open final. Top Select improved to 2-1 on the year against TAV, including splitting a pair of matches at Triple Crown, where Top Select got the better of TAV for the 17 elite bracket championship.
