Below please find PrepVolleyball.com’s 2019 “Gym Dandies,” the nation’s top fulltime defensive players, both high school and club. The list is presented in a dozen “teams” of 13, followed by about 100 more in the Honorable Mention category. Please note that players had to be nominated to be considered. Nominating parties, whether HS coaches or club coaches or club directors, were NOT required to be members of PrepVolleyball.com.

Here’s a little bit more about the process:

High school coaches, club coaches and club directors were asked to nominate players for this list starting in late April. The only limitation was the player had to be generally considered among the best 10-20 defensive players in her state regardless of class year or school classification. That is obviously a subjective standard. Some coaches tried to abide by our “marching orders” strictly and did not nominate excellent players. Others nominated more freely.
