There are tournaments where ripping the seedings is like taking candy from a baby. It’s too easy, and besides the top teams usually make it to the end regardless. However, when it comes to 15 Open at this year’s AAUs Girls National Championships, credit where credit is due.
At least through the first two days of competition and heading into the third, the seeding has been spot on. Of the original top 20 seeds, 18 showed up on Day 3 looking to make Monday’s gold bracket. There were five pools featuring four teams each, so only two of the original top 20 seeds weren’t present. They were original Nos. 4 and 5 seeds in Asics KiVA 15 Red and Borinquen Coqui 15.
