Late last month, Christine Hames announced she would return to the high school volleyball game, this time at Maryville HS in Tennessee. In fact, she’s already held tryouts for the upcoming 2020 season. Prior to this announcement, Hames spent ten seasons at The Webb School of Knoxville (“Webb”) and led the Spartans to seven state titles.
“Before my last season at Webb, I told them I was not returning,” said Hames. “My goal was to watch my girls Nicklin and Kayleigh play college volleyball and my son Eli play football this year.”
Nicklin Hames has been the starting setter at the University of Nebraska since 2018 and Kayleigh Hames is a rising sophomore outside hitter at Pepperdine University. Elijah (“Eli”) plays football at Maryville and is a rising high school sophomore.
