Our first Preseason Club Rankings list is coming! Until then, we thought we’d highlight some 17s teams we’re excited to see in person very soon – 12 of them right here! There are many, many more we can’t wait to cover, and the teams listed below do not necessarily make up those in the top-10 of the 17s rankings.
If you are a club coach and/or director and have not filled out our forms to let us know about your team, please do so here. We cannot write about what we do not know!
Let’s see what’s changed, what’s the same, and what we can expect from some big players in the 17s game from around the country! (See our release last week about ten 18s teams we’re excited about.)

1st Alliance 17 Silver (Illinois) – Not too many 17s teams qualified for USAV Nationals in the 16s division last season before everything was shut down… but through the Windy City Power League, 1st Alliance did. Illinois HS volleyball is scheduled for this spring, so these athletes will play both HS and club in the same season. Physical and skilled with 6-3 OH and Ohio State recruit Chelsea Thorpe and 5-9 OH Jordan Walker taking swings on the left and 6-2 MB Greta Hoogstra, a Colgate commit, 1st Alliance will be dominant in blocking and attacking. With the addition of 5-11 setter Katie Russell, who is a superb combination of smart, offensive, and accurate, as well as libero Juliana Warfield, the success of this team will only grow as its confidence playing together does, too.
