The second day of Volleypalooza, in Texas, put the 32 teams remaining in Gold in a pressure situation. Each team was capable of upsetting the other three teams in the pool, but to advance to the Gold bracket on the final day, a team would have to win the pool outright. Competition on Friday morning began with 32 teams, and by the end of it, just eight teams remained in contention for first-place.
On Thursday, the 64 teams competed across seven playing sites and we were able to see just two. Friday wasn’t exactly drawn out for my benefit and the eight pools were spread across six facilities. I was able to see three of them. Luckily for me, all the Gold teams will play at Rouse HS on Saturday.
