In the last week, we watched as several nationally-unranked teams shocked those ranked in the top 100. Westminster Christian (FL), Bishop O’Dowd (CA), and Prosper (TX) were three such teams, as we noted in our latest Weekend Rewind. The latter two teams began the season ranked and No. 68 and 33, respectively, but have yet to prove themselves to get back into the rankings since.
That may all change this week on the national level and, as Prosper beat No. 10 Plano West on Friday (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 30-28), Texas’ Class 6A will shake up, too. In the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association poll, Prosper (16-7) has made it to No. 5 in Class 6A and Plano West (24-4) is now No. 14. Teams up and down the top 25 in the division will surely be on high alert that nothing has been earned until late November.
