Everything Jess Mruzik has touched over the last year has seemingly turned to gold. It’s magic, really.

The PrepVolleyball.com National (Senior) Player of the Year and two-time Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year (GPOY) has won countless awards, achieved the highest honors, and now can add one final high school achievement to her trophy collection. On Wednesday, Mruzik was recognized as the 2019-20 Gatorade National Player of the Year.

To earn the honor, the 6-1 OH beat out nearly half a million other high schoolers who play volleyball across the nation and 50 other athletes recently named their respective state GPOYs.
