Michigan and California are two states who have once more extended the start dates to return to high school sports. Volleyball in Michigan had reached the State tournament level and California's fall sports seasons had yet to begin before the new announcement came last week.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) has put its high school sports season on pause, as announced last month, and has extended it once more. The three-week halt in play began on November 19th and would go through at least December 8th.
Wednesday, December 9th was the hopeful day to return to the court, but Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced on Monday that she would extend the order through December 20th. She said that her first priority was for students to return to the classroom safely.
