At the beginning of the Circus City Invitational in Sarasota, Florida, the tournament was full of uncertainty due to Hurricane Dorian. Six teams dropped from the field of 16 the week leading up to the event and one more was added making 11 teams total.

This, along with the different state association rules, made seeding and the tournament format a bit unusual. But, with three teams ranked in the top 100 and four out of state teams in the Circus City, the tournament was a worthwhile trip to play high-level competition.
