INDIANAPOLIS – Members of the Mintonette Sports – m.61 team are less than two weeks removed from hanging AAU national championship medals around their necks, but the Ohio squad still has plenty of fireworks left in its arsenal this Fourth of July.

Seeded No. 1 overall in the 16 National division at the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships in Indianapolis, Mintonette on Wednesday made quick work of its first two pool-play opponents on opening day at the Indiana Convention Center. Mintonette blew past Niagara Frontier 16 Navy 25-6, 25-17, and Seal Beach 16-Black 25-15, 25-12.
