The Northern Lights Qualifier (NLQ) for the 17s and 18s age divisions took place last weekend, this year in Omaha, Nebraska, and not Minnesota. Two local teams for Premier Nebraska VBC, were in the final of the 17 and 18 Open finals and earned bids in their respective divisions. No. 14 MAVS KC 18-1 won the 18 Open field with Premier Nebraska 18 Gold finishing as the runner-up. FC Elite 18 Elite tried to earn a bid for the second time in just as many weekends and this time, it completed the task by finishing third.
In the 17 Open division, No. 8 Premier Nebraska 17 Gold took home first prize after coming out of its pool in a three-way tie to earn a spot in the final match. Premier Nebraska defeated Adversity 17 Adidas and Drive Nation 17 Red finished third; all three earned one of the first 17s bids of the season.
