This weekend marked off two more qualifiers in the 18s division – the AVC Dallas Qualifier and the Beast of the Southeast in Atlanta, to make seven total National Qualifiers completed. Nine events are remaining on the 18s calendar, but time is ticking for to qualify for USAV 18s Nationals in Reno this summer.
At Beast, at least seven teams competing were at the Triple Crown National Invitational Tournament (NIT) over President’s Day Weekend. That’s a quick turnaround for the athletes and coaches (and, let’s be honest – parents too!) to play up to 18 high-level matches within nine days.
That’s what the 18 Open winner A5 18-Scott, did. After finishing as the runner-up in Kansas City the week before, it came home with additional confidence coupled with the pressure to qualify in its hometown. Seal Beach 18 Black and OT 18 T. Dexter also secured Open-level bids.
