Backpacks Brimming with Hope
FacebookTwitterEmailPrint

With all of the tragedy in the world right now, we know there are people out there finding opportunities to help in unique ways. We don’t only mean the hospital workers and other first responders battling COVID-19, or teachers learning how to help their students remotely, and coaches trying to hold their teams together – yes, these people are surely in a class of their own.

But we’re also hearing stories of community members stepping up to help in new ways. Aside from the serious updates saturating our news feeds, these are the stories of hope we need to hear. One team from North Carolina, Piedmont Volleyball Club 16 Elite, has stepped out of isolation for a few moments to give food to those in need through the Backpack Ministry of Northwest Guilford County.

Now that the coronavirus has forced additional limitations upon the public, team member Julia Humphrey continues to volunteer with the organization to not only fill backpacks with food, but also of hope.
