On Tuesday, Day 1 of the AAU National Championship tournament has commenced in the 16 Open division. With 68 teams competing in 17 pools on the opening day, we were sure that there was bound to be plenty to talk about. If you recall, in 17 Open we saw several top seeds get upset on the first day making it more difficult for them further in the tournament.
In 16 Open, however, we saw just one of the first seeds move out from its spot, in Pool Q when second-seeded Lexington United 16 Adidas came in first, four-seed OT 16 J. Will finished second, and top seed Hive 16 Gold made it in for third. Third-place on Day 1 was still enough to advance to Gold.
