Some of the best 16-and-under club players in the country served up some impressive skill Tuesday in the start of the third and final session of the 46thannual AAU Volleyball Junior National Championships.
Players from across the country and even Puerto Rico converged on the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando and Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports for the first of four days of competition. Teams played first round of pool play on Tuesday.
The tournament continues with more pool play on Wednesday and pool play and crossover and challenge round matches Thursday before medal round competition on Friday.
First-round pool play was split between OCCC and Disney on opening day and it was hard to tell that many teams had been off for a month or more. Many players just picked up where they left off in USAV qualifiers – playing winning volleyball.
